This week brought 50 merged pull requests and 99 additional commits across the core repository.

Version 2026.1.1 was released with 602 additions and 185 deletions spanning 63 files. The patch addressed 37 linked issues including fixes for Hikvision NVR binary sensor detection, JSON serialization in Anthropic tool results, and Backblaze B2 upload timeouts. Multiple component dependencies were updated including ZHA to version 0.0.84 and pyOverkiz to 1.19.4.
**New Features**
Several integrations gained significant functionality. Namecheap DynamicDNS added a configuration flow, bringing it in line with modern Home Assistant standards. OpenEVSE received authentication support in its config flow and migrated to a data update coordinator pattern. The NASweb integration expanded with a new climate platform. Vodafone Station users can now generate QR codes for guest Wi-Fi access.
**Infrastructure Updates**
The development workflow saw a major change with the replacement of pre-commit by prek, streamlining the continuous integration process. The deprecated progress step data entry flow decorator was removed after serving its purpose across multiple integrations.
**Component Improvements**
Google Air Quality integration added support for additional pollutants. The humidifier platform gained a target humidity step attribute for better frontend customization. Matter thermostats now support occupied setback functionality through new number entities.
**Dependency Updates**
Notable library bumps included hass-nabucasa to version 1.8.0, xknx to 3.14.0, and vallox-websocket-api to 6.0.0. The assist pipeline reverted to microVAD for improved voice activity detection.
Next week expect continued focus on integration modernization and quality improvements as we progress through the 2026.1 release cycle.
