Good morning, this is Home Assistant Daily for January 13th, 2026.
Bramkragten merged the 2026.1.1 release, a substantial update touching 63 files with over 600 additions. The release includes fixes for Hikvision NVR binary sensor detection, Anthropic JSON serialization improvements, and updates to multiple integrations including ZHA, Overkiz, and Backblaze B2 with new asyncio timeout handling.
Seppwabala added support for the EDS0065 device in the OneWire integration, expanding sensor capabilities with new temperature and humidity monitoring options. Thomas55555 enhanced Google Air Quality by adding additional pollutant sensors for more comprehensive air quality monitoring.
Mib1185 completed entity name and icon translations for FRITZ!Box Tools, improving the user interface with proper localization. Lboue added Matter occupied setback support for thermostats, providing better energy management through automated temperature adjustments.
Several dependency updates were merged. Klejejs bumped hass-nabucasa from 1.7.0 to 1.8.0, then again to 1.9.0. Yozik04 updated vallox-websocket-api to 6.0.0, and DCSBL bumped python-homewizard-energy to 10.0.1, addressing reported issues.
Ptarjan fixed Hikvision NVR binary sensors not being detected properly, resolving device discovery problems. Glenndehaan added diagnostics support to HDFury integration for better troubleshooting capabilities.
Additional improvements include Airzone Q-Adapt select entity fixes, APCUPSD timestamp device classes, and repairs to requirement parsing in the RequirementsManager.
What's next: Version 2026.1.1 is now available with these stability improvements. The team continues work on Matter integration enhancements and integration quality improvements.
