Good morning, this is your Frigate NVR update for Monday, January 13th, 2026.
Hawkeye217 merged miscellaneous fixes for the 0.17 beta release. The pull request addresses WebSocket race conditions in the MSE player by registering message handlers before sending and avoiding closure of connecting sockets. The changes also include Safari-specific timeout fixes and intentional disconnect tracking to prevent unwanted reconnections during navigation cycles. The update includes an Ollama upgrade and converts activity context prompts to YAML examples.
Saibharath48 merged documentation improvements fixing alt text in the README for mask and zone editor screenshots and capitalizing Frigate consistently in audio detector documentation.
The repository processed 176 lines of code changes across five files, with both pull requests receiving single approvals before merging on January 7th.
What's next: The 0.17 beta continues development with improved MSE player stability and cleaner documentation. Development focus remains on resolving browser-specific playback issues.
That's your Frigate NVR update. Back tomorrow with more development news.
