Good morning, it's Monday, October 5th, 2026.

The big pattern is correction: the codebase stopped trusting numbers it never actually measured.

First, sensing accuracy. In PR 2156, the multistatic fuser was combining phase across nodes with a weighted average, even though each ESP32 runs its own crystal with random phase after reset. Time sync lines up frames, not radio phase, so that fused phase had no physical meaning. Now it only combines phase for nodes…

Second, pipeline liveness and vital safety. PR 2147, merged in commit 7c8aeac, fixes empty rooms reporting vital signs. Heuristic room occupancy was authorizing numeric rates even when calibrated checks said absent. Vitals now require fresh, calibrated single-occupant evidence. PR 2148 adds the diagnostics to…

Third, provisioning. PR 2152 stops keying saved state by serial port, which reused the prior board's identity and channel on swap, and keys it by board MAC instead. PR 2153 locks down secrets, making state directories and files owner-only and keeping the Wi-Fi password out of command-line arguments and status output.

What's next: expect fused phase to go quiet unless a shared reference is configured, and operators should…
