Good morning, this is Home Assistant Daily for Thursday, May 23rd, 2026.
The major development yesterday was Frenck merging the 2026.5.4 release, bringing web search citation stripping for GPT-5.x models in OpenAI conversation, updated aiolyric dependency to version 2.1.1 with OAuth URL fixes for Lyric integration, and additional Miele dishwasher codes. The release spans 57 files with over 500 lines of changes.
Martin Hjelmare completed removal of the legacy Konnected integration, eliminating over 5,000 lines of deprecated code while maintaining a stub for migration purposes. This represents a significant cleanup of technical debt in the codebase.
Artur Pragacz removed the CLOUD_NEVER_EXPOSED_ENTITIES constant, which became obsolete after previous entity exposure system changes. The removal touched multiple cloud and voice assistant components.
Several integration improvements landed today. iMicknl fixed tilt-only DynamicPergola covers in the Overkiz integration, while jgus added a reconfiguration flow to the Arcam integration for changing host settings. SoundMatt resolved two bugs in HEOS integration, including a critical host set construction issue.
The team merged multiple dependency updates, including habluetooth to 6.4.0, aioesphomeapi to 45.1.0, and bleak-esphome to 3.8.1. Max Michels continued the effort to replace duplicate constants across components, updating netatmo, profiler, osoenergy, onkyo, openerz, and rainmachine integrations.
Additional commits included system bridge service registration improvements by Manu, Matter Python client bump to 0.7.1, RGB color handling fixes for light entities, and addition of xthings cloud lock support.
What's next: Expect continued dependency updates and code cleanup efforts. Integration improvements and bug fixes remain the primary focus.
That's your Home Assistant Daily update.
