Good morning, this is Home Assistant Daily for April 5th, 2026.

Yesterday saw significant activity with 20 merged pull requests and 20 additional commits across the codebase.

SkySrfr merged improvements to Rainforest Automation Eagle-200 handling, adding automatic detection of multiple connected meters and selecting the first meter with "Connected" status. This was their first Home Assistant contribution.

MoonDevLT implemented a breaking change to the Lunatone integration, modifying the unique ID attribute used for devices. Users will need to reconfigure their Lunatone devices after this update.

Erwin Douna added a kill button to the Portainer integration, giving users direct container termination control from Home Assistant.

Several integrations received new sensor capabilities. Jan Weltmeyer added battery and supply voltage sensors to the Traccar server integration, while Jonas enhanced Gardena Bluetooth with manual and remaining watering time sensors for Aquaprecise devices.

The remainder of the updates focused on dependency bumps across multiple integrations. Notable library updates include aiohue to 4.8.1 for Philips Hue, dbus-fast to 4.0.4 for Bluetooth functionality, and subarulink to 0.7.19 which fixes compatibility issues with 2026 model year vehicles.

Additional maintenance work included test coverage improvements for Vodafone Station, data cleanup for Fritz integration testing, and translation enhancements for the Sunricher DALI integration.

What's next: The Fritz integration cleanup work suggests broader testing improvements are underway, and the volume of dependency updates indicates active maintenance of the integration ecosystem.

That's your Home Assistant Daily update. We'll be back tomorrow with more development news.
