Good morning, this is your Frigate NVR update for February 6th, 2026.

Yesterday saw four merged pull requests addressing hardware support and system stability. Pops0n merged updated Hailo installation instructions and scripts, significantly improving the setup process for Raspberry Pi users running both Bookworm and Trixie operating systems. The changes include 81 additions across installation documentation and user scripts, addressing driver mismatch issues that were causing problems in fresh installations.

ZhaiSoul merged a fix for delete zone type internationalization, resolving display issues in the web interface settings. This was a targeted change affecting the polygon item component and English locale files.

NickM-27 contributed two separate fixes. The first addressed a critical bug where events could get stuck when recording retention and snapshot retention were disabled - the system was only checking current clips and snapshots rather than the broader event state. The second was a minor logging adjustment, changing a log level from info to debug to reduce noise in the custom classification module.

All four changes also appear as additional commits in the repository, indicating they've been fully integrated into the main codebase.

What's next: These fixes should improve stability for users with retention settings disabled and make Hailo-8 setup more reliable on Raspberry Pi devices. The internationalization improvements continue the project's focus on better global accessibility.

That's your Frigate NVR update. Back tomorrow with more developments.
