Good morning. This is your Buzz Transcription weekly recap for February 22nd through March 1st, 2026.
Nine pull requests merged and nine additional commits this week, with all contributions from developer raivisdejus.
Starting with new features: The project gained auto-update checking for Windows and Mac platforms through PR 1404, adding over 1,800 lines of code and comprehensive localization support. CSV export functionality arrived via PR 1400, representing the week's largest change with over 3,200 additions. Folder import capabilities were implemented in PR 1398, addressing issue 1389 with new import workflows.
Infrastructure improvements included significant folder watch enhancements in PR 1402, adding 561 lines across 24 files. Recording transcriber functionality saw two separate improvement cycles in PRs 1392 and 1405, with the first delivering substantial localization updates across all supported languages.
Bug fixes addressed YouTube download issues in PR 1396, resolving issue 1373 with dependency updates to the CI workflow and Whisper CPP integration. The week concluded with flatpak release notes added in PR 1407.
Testing expanded considerably through PR 1393, which added 855 lines of new test coverage including model loader tests, file transcriber queue worker tests, and new widget testing for Hugging Face search functionality and speaker identification.
A notable pattern this week was extensive localization work, with updates to translation files in Catalan, Danish, German, English, Spanish, Italian, Japanese, Latvian, Dutch, and Polish across multiple pull requests. This suggests preparation for broader international deployment.
The additional commits largely mirrored the merged pull requests, indicating a clean development workflow with minimal post-merge fixes required.
Next week, we'll be watching for any follow-up work on the new auto-update system and potential user feedback on the CSV export functionality. Until next week, this has been your Buzz Transcription development update.
