Good morning, this is your Buzz Transcription development update for February 27th, 2026.

Raivis Dejus merged two significant pull requests yesterday and today. The first, "Youtube download update," addresses issue 1373 with fixes to the YouTube download functionality. This update modifies the whisper_cpp transcriber, updates CI workflows, and bumps dependency versions in both pyproject.toml and the snap package configuration.

The larger merge today implements folder import capability through pull request 1398. This substantial addition brings 761 lines of new code across 22 files, primarily focusing on internationalization support. The feature adds localized strings across ten languages including Catalan, Danish, German, English, Spanish, Italian, Japanese, Latvian, and Dutch. Each locale file received updated translations to support the new folder import functionality, with the Latvian locale seeing the most extensive changes.

Both merges also generated corresponding commits in the main branch, confirming the integration of these features into the production codebase.

Looking ahead: Users can expect improved YouTube content processing reliability and the new ability to import entire folders for batch transcription. The extensive localization work suggests this folder import feature will be accessible to Buzz's international user base from launch.

That's your development update. I'm back tomorrow with more from the Buzz Transcription project.
