Good morning, it's October 6th, 2026, and this is React Daily.

Today's signal is not a feature, it's silent failures. Four different areas shipped small fixes to stop the codebase from failing quietly, leaking memory, breaking exports, or passing tests that should have failed.

First, reliability in tooling and the compiler. In React Native's Fabric renderer, public views are created lazily, and that timing split broke DevTools cleanup. As described in PR 37758, acquiring an instance before that public view existed and releasing it after used two different keys, so the release missed and…

Second, warnings that protect developers. PR 37759 adds a missing controlled to uncontrolled warning for text areas, bringing them in line with other form elements. If you switch value handling without meaning to, you'll now get a console warning in development instead of unpredictable input behavior.

And finally, test coverage. Two duplicate proposals, PR 37756 and PR 37757, fix the Flight test setup so focused tests are rejected on continuous integration but still allowed locally. Previously the logic was inverted, so an accidentally committed focused test could make continuous integration pass…
