Good morning, it's October 20th, 2026.

The clear pattern is server rendering reliability. Three merged changes fix how Fizz handles aborted prerenders, repeated postponements, and slow streams.

First, preserving the shell on abort. PR 37853 addresses a case where a synchronous abort during prerender could discard an already rendered shell and resume only an inner slot, leaving missing markup. The fix keeps parent segments rendering text and host elements after abort, then tracks a postponed hole where…

Second, finishing output under pressure. PR 37901 fixes truncated prerender output when a Node stream applies backpressure. Previously Fizz could close the destination while partial boundary output was still queued. It now waits for partial boundaries to empty before closing, verified with a low water mark test.

Beyond Fizz, the remaining activity does not form a single pattern. The highest-impact open proposals include fixing state loss when swapping a resolved lazy wrapper for its underlying component in PR 37903, and keeping React's own preload links when clearing the document on first commit in PR 37906.

What's next: if you ship static prerendering with Suspense, test abort and…
