Good morning. This is your OpenClaw developer briefing for May 16th, 2026.

The team merged 20 pull requests with significant agent and infrastructure improvements. Sahil Satralkar merged CLI context engine turn finalization, fixing a critical issue where CLI-routed turns bypassed context engine post-turn lifecycle, affecting non-legacy engines like LCM. Josh Avant merged Codex native tool policy enforcement, ensuring shell and file operations respect OpenClaw policy when running in implicit yolo mode.

Samzong fixed Gmail watcher restart and abort handling, addressing stale sidecar startup issues during hot reload. Frank Yang followed up with additional Gmail watcher reload abort handling fixes. MonkeyLeeT preserved Pi tool result error flags, marking timeout and error states as model-visible failures.

Platform integrations saw multiple fixes. HCL Systems fixed Feishu CardKit text streaming to send deltas instead of accumulated text. VACInc addressed Telegram context loss after restart replay by implementing disk-backed recovery for stuck processing claims. Josh Avant fixed Telegram presentation-only payload sends and expired approval callbacks.

The team also addressed configuration and workspace management. Josh Avant repaired source-only official plugin installs for Brave and Slack, and fixed doctor repair for disabled Codex runtime plugins. Giodl73-repo added dry-run diff output to the OC Path command and fixed workspace directory fallback behavior.

Additional commits included provider search tool response schema hardening by Vincent Koc and Discord model picker improvements by Peter Steinberger.

What's next: Watch for continued stability improvements in agent lifecycle management and platform integrations.

That's your OpenClaw update for today.
