Good morning, it's Sunday, October 18th, 2026.
The top pattern today is cache correctness — three separate fixes all stop Next.js from serving stale content after it should have been invalidated.
First, in-place deploys. PR 100355 isolates runtime route cache entries by the build that wrote them, so syncing a new build over an existing output directory with tools like rsync no longer leaves the restarted server serving the previous build's responses.
Second, shared in-flight work. PR 100353 fixes read-your-own-writes for use cache. When one request joins another request's in-flight fill, it now runs the same staleness checks as the leader before reusing the result, discarding fills that started before an update tag call expired them.
Third, clock mismatch. PR 100357 moves File System Cache timestamps to the monotonic clock. Previously, revalidations were stamped with wall-clock time while expiry checks used monotonic time, so if the wall clock ran ahead, a revalidation could be dated in the future and ignored, leaving the old page in place.
A second theme is routes incorrectly going missing. PR 100358 fixes dynamic API routes under internationalized routing, where paths like slash…
