Our lead story is scan reliability on slow storage. If you run on a Synology NAS, USB disk, or HDD RAID, long scans ending in database is locked errors should now survive.
That comes from pull request 6201, merged yesterday. The pattern is simple: too many writers fighting the scanner for SQLite’s write lock. The artwork worker introduced in 0.64 kept writing through scans, a full database analyze held the lock for more than 25 minutes on slow hardware, and a single busy error aborted…
Second theme is HTTP correctness and download safety. Pull request 5897 fixes four small server bugs with real impact: failed initial admin creation was reported as success, admin creation errors surfaced as a misleading login failure, bulk delete could return broken JSON, and shared playlists missed their content…
Finally, Jellyfin compatibility. Pull request 6204, now merged, honors the public flag on playlist creation, unblocking clients like JellyBox Player. Open pull request 6214 would return user libraries at the user root, fixing Symfonium syncs that finish with zero tracks.
