Good morning, this is your Frigate NVR Updates for April 4th, 2026.
Three pull requests were merged yesterday, led by a substantial GenAI system refactoring. NickM-27 merged the GenAI refactor, touching 20 files with 363 additions and 140 deletions. This update switches to feature-based roles for easier model selection across different AI tasks, adds frontend improvements for model loading, and notably allows GenAI configuration updates without requiring system restarts. The refactor also includes fallback mechanisms and better model compatibility support.
Abinila4 merged documentation updates for MemryX hardware setup, correcting links to point to version 2.1 documentation and clarifying the custom model compilation section. These changes improve setup guidance without affecting runtime behavior.
Hawkeye217 merged settings interface improvements that add dot notation support for ordering subfields in the configuration form. The update also repositions the GenAI enabled setting for better organization and fixes text truncation issues in the detail stream summary display.
Two additional commits captured the implementation details for the GenAI refactor and settings tweaks, providing enhanced model switching capabilities and improved configuration management.
What's next: The GenAI improvements should streamline AI model management for users running multiple detection tasks. The documentation updates will help new MemryX users with clearer hardware setup procedures.
That's your Frigate NVR update for today.
