Good morning, this is your Frigate NVR Updates for March 28th, 2026.

Yesterday brought three merged pull requests totaling 283 lines of code changes across 14 files. NickM-27 merged improvements to chat features, enhancing notification messaging and wake behavior when zones aren't specified, plus fixing prompt ordering for AI generation calls. The changes touched web push notifications and both Gemini and OpenAI integration modules.

Hawkeye217 introduced a new review labels widget that allows users to customize which detection labels appear in the review interface. The enhancement includes support for custom labels, audio label filtering when audio detection is disabled, and improved internationalization across the web interface. Eight files were modified with 182 additions.

ZhaiSoul added Axera NPU load monitoring capabilities, extending Frigate's hardware acceleration support. The 42-line addition implements load tracking for Axera neural processing units through the stats utility and services modules.

All three pull requests received single approval reviews before merging. The chat improvements focus on better AI interaction reliability, while the review widget gives users more granular control over their detection workflows. The Axera NPU support expands hardware compatibility for users running specialized edge computing setups.

What's next: These UI enhancements suggest continued focus on user experience refinements. The expanded NPU support indicates ongoing efforts to optimize performance across different hardware platforms.

That's your update for today. We'll be back tomorrow with more Frigate development news.
